I am back. Did we need the sex plot? No. Did we need the misgendering? No (however, I support trans wild shit drama). Also, the whole bath plot is based on "the girls" complaining about their body hair, while it is literally like a week of growth on armpits and "bikini line", zero hair anywhere else. "She transgendered" will forever remain one of my favourite lines tho when talking about myself.
Also, you know it is not great when I have to ask myself whether some parts are due to character development or due to the author forgetting how to write specific characters.

**Reread: This volume has a lot of strong points, our main protagonists are back, and they really amp up the story. Hiromi's odd behavior continues to hint at some of the deeper causes for the ZQNs. I do stand by that the nudity in the volume borders on needlessly gratuitous, but it didn't ruin the volume for me**

Its nice to see our main trio back in focus with this series. The Side narrative the last volume told gives more perspective to the crisis, and helps highlight some of the reasons behind Hiromi's odd behavior.

There are some sexual moments that at times felt a like they came out of no where, which results in several naked illustrations of the women in the group. It wasn't completely fanservice, but it definitely veered into that territory pretty quickly.

Be warned this volume ends on a big cliffhanger !

Yes! If I wasn’t invested in a single character throughout Senlin Ascends then the opposite is true of this series. I am invested in every character! This manga hits different in so many ways and as it features a mysterious pandemic slowly spreading across the world it’s kinda topical! What has been slow and steady through the first six volumes has started to become a bit of a rollercoaster as we approach the finish (volume 10?). I am unwrapping number eight right now

An exciting volume, but I hated the child nudity and Oda having sex with Hideo to "pay him back" for helping her. Pretty cool that Hiromi has powers now and seems totally fine.

I would give this a higher rating but a few parts kind of seemed too unrealistic but that's really my only complaint. The story took a hard turn and is getting very interesting. I can't wait to read the next volume!
