Most enjoyable book of the series so far. While there were minor differences between the books and movie in book 2 (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), primarily in the fight scenes, this is the first book where the movie truly diverged. At the same time, it kept many of the choice moments, just reshuffled with different characters or different scenes (presumably because everyone involved thought the quotes or images themselves were so worthwhile, even if used differently). This is also the author's first attempt so far at maintaining multiple running storylines (as opposed to the short flashbacks vignettes of the first book), with a substantial amount of the book devoted to events in the past (denoted by black borders and gutters on the pages).

Edit 5/14/17: I like this series. But only volume 1 deserves 4/5. 7.5/10 (3/5)
8/10 on this one. Solid installment.

I switched to the black and white for this volume and it's impossible to tell who's who. O'Malley draws all dudes the same. And then there are unannounced flashbacks and that makes it so much harder, because I have to use the characters clothes to figure out who they are. This volume had amusing moments, but not much happened.
