I liked some parts of this, and it was very engaging for most of the book.
I really enjoyed the line that she walks between Ursa as an alien and Ursa as a traumatized child.
However, portrayal of depression really bothered me, and I really disliked the abrupt change of pace and tone towards the end. I would have enjoyed it much more if Ursa’s story had been left more ambiguous and up to the reader to decide, and if everything weren’t tied up in a neat bow. 3-star read, and docked another half star for the animal death that they kept bringing back to the forefront.

THIS BOOK IS ON KINDLE UNLIMITED READ IT NOW - happened to be scrolling through Kindle Unlimited read the description of this book and thought "ehh why not give it a shot?". I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book, it is realistic fiction but surprisingly unique. The characters are so beautifully flawed and I just loved it. As a book on Kindle Unlimited it went above and beyond my expectations. BE WARNED you will not be able to put this book down!!

The author of the book has obviously never experienced mental illness, making her attempt to cover the topic poorly executed. Other than that though, it's a cute book.
