Wow. Definitely some scathing Latino (especially Dominican) truths here. A short story, yes - but definitely a long history of where the points of this story come from. I wish reputations like that of Yunior weren't so but Junot Diaz kept it real. I was conflicted with feelings of offense *AND* my "mhmm, yeah that's right. de verdad!" attitude. Can't knock it when you know it, right? Anyway, I enjoyed the spanglish thrown into the writing, but I can understand how it can seem less than entertaining to non-native speakers. More Diaz, please!

I liked this. IDK how to explain why really.
A pretty damn good short story, the writing style reminded me of Sally Rooney a lot, in a good way. The protagonist felt kind of like a real person, and the writing style really reflected the story and his character.
This did the unlikable main character in a really good way because he wasn't just unlikable, he was an actual person as well, and you can understand and relate to him in a way. The way this was written (in the second person) was really interesting and in my opinion, enhanced the message and the character. I'm pretty sure this is the first thing I have read in the second person and it was an interesting experience.
Overall, I think this isn't for everyone but it's pretty good.

I enjoyed erratic pace and chaotic feel of this story.

"There are many formulas. One year for every year you dated. Two years for every year you dated. It's just a metter of will power: the day you decide it's over, it's over. You never get over it."

I really enjoyed The Cheater’s Guide to Love. The story uses a second-person narrator which is unusual, almost as if they are addressing the reader directly. I really liked the tone this created. The story is split into sections and each one has the hapless narrator reel of a list of romantic indiscretions, then apologise and seemingly shrug their shoulders and say ‘oh well, I’m only human’. The story is quite satirical. It’s well written and engaging.
