I read this trilogy one right after the other and throughly enjoyed them. I'm no expert on Josephine's life and times but these books seemed to be well researched and were certainly entertaining.

This is one of my favourite "series" - I often get frustrated with the repetive nature of historical fiction novels, but this series - whether you read it in its entirety - or any book individually is really good - it flows, it's rich in description, but not overly bogged down with unrelated details.

Interesting perspective of this period of time from Josehpine's story.

I loved this series. I found the first two in a thrift store by chance and I had no problem paying full price for the third. This book is highly recommended for anyone who is into historical fiction.

I have never read a book about Josephine or the Napoleonic empire so I didn't know what to expect. I have to say I was very impressed with the simple, straight forward style of Sandra Gulland. I loved the fact that the book is written from the perspective of the heroine, and eventhough in some instances the feelings seems a little far fecthed, I truly enjoyed the novel and I would recommend it to everyone who likes historical fiction.
