God, I wish I could love this more, but the racism is frankly appalling, and Mame’s personality starts to grate on me a bit as she devolves into Susan Vance from Bringing Up Baby—putting Patrick (and often blatantly manipulating him) into precarious situations for her own benefit and personal amusement.

This was a fun read. It was very predictable, but that's ok because Dennis entertained me anyway. I can't say I wish I had an Auntie Mame, but I kind of wish my children had one!
