Useful information that covered a wide timeline. A bit repetitive and hard to follow at times. I think this was a bit too academic for me, a lot of it went over my head, and I'd like to revisit it sometime in the future to really study it.

incredibly powerful book. If the content of the book wasn't saturated with technical knowledge I would recommend for everyone to read this book. It truthfully goes to show how biases/behaviors that exist within cultures don't populate overnight and simmer through generations. I commend Ms. Washington for compiling all the evidence that probably took tens of years to obtain and collecting accounts from individuals that were effected.

This book is informative. It is also depressing AF. I added all the content warnings, but it serves a purpose, it's not just a warning of triggers. This is what has been done to African Americans throughout history in the name of science (in most cases) and I think it's important to know.
