I didn’t like it. Too violent for me. Didn’t mind the main character or the style of writing, but not really into Jack the Ripper and all the gore that comes along with it. It’s just not the novel for me. I only read about a hundred pages and then I stopped, the sex and violence are not up my alley.

I enjoyed it because of the plot twists and interesting dilemmas about time. It was fun to read in a way and I really wanted to know what would happen next, but I found the female characters were all classic male fantasy women, ie mumsy or wenchy, or both. That was quite annoying. Also there is quite gruesome violence to one woman that made me uncomfortable in the way it was dealt with and with the book being quite flippant overall.
So Yes had it's good points but made me squirm a lot.
Advice to male authors just write the book with all male characters then swap the gender of a few of them, then all your characters might be relateable. (I know some male authors write women well but haven't come across very many so far)
