*happy sigh* Give me anything Soul Screamers related and I'm extremely happy. This novella from Sophie's POV is no exception. And although I know it's not intended, I do almost like her more now, as in I almost like her a tiny bit at all. I'm not gonna lie, Luca is super hot and I'm more than a little curious to see more of him. Bring on Before I Wake please!!

Getting inside Sophie’s head made me a little more sympathetic toward her. As hateful as she is, she really has had it rough, and who among us wasn’t selfish in out early teens? I for one couldn’t see past the end of my nose, so I can relate.

This short gives some hints that maybe there is more to her than meets the eye. She is a very strong, brave, and possibly not all human, girl. I am actually looking forward to seeing where she goes from here and her growth. And Luca? What. The. Heck. I have a feeling he is going to play a bigger role in the coming books.

Oh, so good, and I'm wondering how it's going to be explained, since I know it's going to come out, and oh, this is kinda a game changer, a minorish one, but still one, oh, I really want to read Before I Wake!!!

Oh no, how did they make Sophie so likable in this? Yeah, she is a popular 'mean girl' but her navigating the Netherworld with Luca was so fun! It was fast paced and I was really rooting for her, even when it seemed like things were getting bleak. She had some great ideas to distract the Nether creatures AND had the sense to never look at one and bring more attention to herself.

This novella annoyed me SO much!!!! Who does she think she is? She's so full of herself.

And this quote annoyed me the most.

"People called Kaylee special, but what they really meant was “special.” In that straitjackets and
padded walls kind of way. She wasn’t special like Luca thought I was special. She could never
handle what I’d just seen and done. She wasn’t stable enough."

If she even knew a single thing about Kaylee she would keep her mouth shut!

I'm sorry but Kaylee's cousin is the most shallow book character I could have ever meet.

Well, I enjoyed a new look into Soul Screamers and I'm quite interested on this bee character; but Sophie still annoys the heck out of me. Here's hoping in the next book she grows up
a....Lot.

I really hope we find out more about Luca in the next Soul Screamers book! Especially if they figure out what Sophie is and how she reacts to it! It's pretty bad that I'm starting to even like Sophie better than Kaylee now.
