When iCarly rebooted I was disappointed that Jennette McCurdy and her character Sam Puckett were not going to be apart of it. Now that I know why I'm so happy for her and proud of her growth.

Prachtig geschreven, ik heb het via storytel geluisterd en het is ingesproken door haarzelf waardoor voor mij het verhaal nog persoonlijker werd. Verder is het op een hele fijne manier geschreven waardoor het leek alsof een vriendin je een verhaal aan het vertellen was. De scenes zijn heel goed en duidelijk omschreven waardoor je een heel duidelijk beeld kreeg van de toxische omstandigheden waar ze in leefde. Het is een hele gekke gedachte dat achter een van mijn favoriete kindershows zo'n heftig verhaal zit. Ik heb alle respect voor hoe zij de kracht heeft gevonden om haar leven op de rit te krijgen en ook de moed om dit boek te schrijven. 5 zeer verdiende sterren.

“We all crack up around her, harder than we would have if she wasn’t dying. There’s something about these life-or-death moments that just beg for some levity. They’re too difficult otherwise. Too excruciating.”

That quote from the book perfectly sums up the book. This books is some amazingly weird combination of traumatic, depressing, and hilarious. It is so well written and so emotional that I can’t even say anything more eloquent about it other than that it was perfect.
