I'm very glad I waited to read this after first getting a copy. It's very intense and does not shy away from all the harmful things we think up from the entertainment industry. It was incredibly hard to heard Jenette recount it all as well. It's a good book and discusses a lot of important topics while giving a deep look into unhealthy cycles, coming to terms with abuse from parents, eating disorders and recovery from, and so much more.

Wow. Since I never watched iCarly or Sam and Cat I had virtually no exposure to the author until this book came out. This is definitely the type of book I’ll only get through once. When I say heartbreaking, I mean it. It is so deeply disturbing at times and upsetting all the time. But it’s also humorous. It’s a great book about not-great circumstances. Please mind the trigger warnings.

I can’t get over this book. It was an incredibly fast read for me because I couldn’t stop, I love the rawness that we see from the narrator and the people around her. It felt so honest, funny and heartbreaking in one read. I will warn that it has very explicit detail on the author’s journey with many very heavy topics so please read the trigger warnings and look after yourself. With that though, I don’t think I can recommend this memoir enough. It was truly gripping from start to finish.
