A stunning conclusion! I liked how the action was matched with the feelings of all the heroes but still in some cases I wondered what would happen or how they were going to solve everything.

A pretty solid ending to a fun series.

Mortal Gods ended in a monster of a cliffhanger. While some time has passed since that ending, Ungodly pretty much picks up at the same pace. All of our heroes are split, from California to the Underworld. And alliances are forming between previous rivals that I never thought would happen.

What I really liked about this installment was how Blake took everything we already knew about this war and sides, and flipped it on its head. People think that war is so black and white, and Blake really took the time to show those icky grey parts in the middle. As more and more information was getting revealed, motives changed even if ends goals remained the same. Because of this, previous enemies become allies to help each other survive.

I enjoyed the new characters we met in this one. Thanatos was a delight and made me warm up to Cassandra a bit - cause let's be honest, she kind of just became this petulant child who refused to listen to anyone. And it's really hard for me to back someone who refuses to listen and learn from others. But all of the other characters grew and really challenged themselves which I appreciated.

There was more loss and more betrayals. There were also some heartwarming moments and some shocking moments. I felt that it was a very fitting ending to this series and I'm happy that I read it. I'm also super happy that my boy Hermes LIVED!!

I really wanted to like these. I feel like every time I read a Kendare Blake book I want to write on her report card "Not living up to her potential." She has great ideas, but this book was so indescribably dull.

I will give her this, though, she is great at gore.

This is a good ending to the trilogy. More things happened. The characters are well-developed (I still don't like Athena and Cassandra). The ending is okay.

I'm still not a fan of gods being teenagers. Sometimes, I like how human they are in different occasions, but sometimes I feel like they're just teens acting like ****s instead of gods acting like ****s.

Not all of my questions are answered...but it's okay. Overall, this is a good series. The take on greek mythology is new and good. But it's not something that would stay with me. Soon, I would forget.
