Just your average LDS romance- I cared enough about the characters to keep reading. The setting was good, but there was a lot of unnecessary descriptions telling me every little thing the characters did, and not much development in the other characters.

Alright that was adorable. Maybe not the best writing, but I can forgive that. I think Kisses in the Rain has delayed my oncoming reading slump, hopefully stopped it. Thank goodness for easy, mushy (clean yay!) Romance books to keep me sane ☺️

Georgiana Tate was in a terrible car accident with her fiance who didn't survive. She has moved to her aunt's house on a small island in Washington to try and put together the pieces. Jace Lowe has given up on love and is just concentrating on his job as a sous-chef, especially because he has been given the task of changing a few things on the menu. When Georgie accidentally gives Jace an idea the two of them end up spending a lot of time together on the menu.

It was sweet. I really wanted more with the ending though. Cause
Spoilerthey just decided to date. The whole book is about them deciding to go from friends to dating to courtship and BAM that's where it ends.
I really really wanted more of a HEA instead of a HFN.

Really loved this one! I loved the beautiful setting of Washington State and thought it was so fun to go "behind the scenes" a little bit into a kitchen restaurant. Even though I am not a big fan of seafood myself, I loved all the talk of food and cooking and trying out new recipes. And I loved the characters -- Georgie's journey was especially interesting as she tried to deal with some tragic things in her past. LDS fiction that was not preachy at all.

A fairly predictable read, but easy and fun nonetheless. The characters both have depth to them and add a lot to the story.
