A lot of it is far from my cup of tea, but the Limelight/Greylight section are reason enough to keep it on my shelf.

as the poems were ordered in reverse chronological order, the book started out strong before it fizzled out at the end. i do think it needed tighter curation, where instead of ordering them by chronology it could be instead thematically arranged. but then again, i am just a mere reader.

in a way, i turned into this book because i wanted to brush up on my chinese literacy skills. there were several pieces where he was borrowing from classical chinese poetry and experimenting with it by suffusing his voice and contemporary zeitgeist. however, my chinese literacy skills was limited so i was unable to fully appreciate them in the original version.

my three favourite from his collection would be:
1. 你对我说,怀念那些暖慢的旧日子, You Tell Me You Miss Those Slow Paced Days Of The Past
2. 给彭波而十岁生日, For Peng Bo Er On Her Tenth Birthday
3. 喝过咖啡的下午, The Afternoon We Had Coffee
