I read all 2 1/2 of these (this one is a novella). Maybe I am too old for this stuff. It just seems creepy that some 500-year-old guy is going to have that much in common with a 25-year-old woman. In the novella there is only about a 300-year age difference.

This one was a short story and added another layer to the world building and interconnected webs of the elves.

An author worth following

I found the first book by chance, those that follow I've pursued. I have not been disappointed yet. Solid storytelling, great characterization.

Good novella. Good flow and story. But there's no resolution. Ends on a huge what is going on note.

This short novella connects the second story and the book to be released very soon - fingers crossed. Again, the lead characters have shifted. Somehow, the story is completely unique and engaging anyway. (Adams is a secretive mastermind?)

It was a short and sweet telling of a short adventure that will have very interesting consequences in the elven world Adams created. Even in a short tale, Adams gently reminds us to be better people. Encouraging us to challenge our mental models and prejudices because no one and nothing is quite as it seems.

(3 stars because 3.5 is not an option and it does not quite meet a 4)
