It was boring and so blunt with anticolonialism et al. (I like a good book that seamlessly interweaves the societal issues that I am concerned about like antiracism, genomic justice and everything related. But this read more like a textbook, that was trying to storify the content). This reminded me of the books that they forced me to read in HS, which made me NOT want to read books. I don't give it a 1, because the issues are relevant and I would like people to read about this, and if this is the way that they learn about the ills and injustices of the world, then this book has served an excellent, highly moralistic purpose. If that is your sole reason for reading, then this book gets a 4 star, easily. But I also like to be entertained OR to get me thinking differently. This book did not do that.

I actually fell asleep reading this in my comfy chair. At least half a dozen times. I knew I fell asleep because the book would hit the floor and make a loud noise, waking me.

Ugh.
