Carissa mentions this novella was slower and more romantic than the the books in the main series and she wasn't kidding. Really enjoyed seeing Lilith and Vale 'decipher' each other and realize they really like each other. It did feel a bit insta-lovey but in this case it felt very natural and it made sense to me. Loved that it felt like it was a cozy romance in a fantasy setting.

"It must be hard,” he murmured. “To bear the weight of so much affection in a life so short."

What a beautiful read. Vale and Lilith grew on me in these few chapters and I really missed the world of Nyaxia and her vampires. I really don't know why I haven't read the second book yet. Can't wait to read more about this new couple in part 2 ❤.

Breathtaking novella. It didn’t overstay its welcome but still managed to get a whole damn love story and conflict in. Lilith and Vale were excellent main characters, not two dimensional. Every word meant something in a story this short, and every emotion was felt. Lilith and Vale >>> Oraya and Raihn.

all Vale wanted was whatever Lilith could give, expecting nothing more in return 🥹

YUP. Absolutely. Like I would ever curse a book about a woman in science.
