The characters and the story itself were great. The book really needed more editing. It was about 1/4 too long and the monologues became torturous to get through. I also donโ€™t really buy that the FMC as sheโ€™s presented would do the insta family thing with her kid so quickly. And in general, I just canโ€™t stand the trope of a woman who needs a man to heal her body issues.

Perfection. Every book in this series is filled with so much love, humor, spice, and emotion. This one being really heavy on the emotion! This is the perfect found family story with immensely lovable, well rounded characters you are constantly rooting for. Plus lots of pets!

He laughs again, and Iโ€™m struck by how much I like being the reason.

โ€œYou thought of me, and thatโ€™s a big deal to me.โ€œ

โ€œItโ€™s not that I feel less fractured with Rosie, but that the light streams in anyway, between all the shattered pieces left behind. I find beauty there, a sense of peace that tells me good things are waiting.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t think my forever exists without you somewhere inside it.โ€

Becka Mackโ€™s Vancouver Vipers universe is just the perfect mix of cozy supportive sweetness and hot spicy smut. I just adore all of the characters. Truly some of my favorite scenes are when the entire team and their significant others are together. The family that Becka has created is top notch. This book is definitely an emotional read. Adam and Rosie have such a sweet and tender romance. I love what they bring out in each other and how they are exactly what the other needs. I appreciate their strong communication. Also it needs to be said- Adam is a DILF, his hot hockey dad energy is off the charts. There is no comparison. I absolutely would recommend this book. As with the others in the series my one gripe is that this book does not need to be this long- itโ€™s so long there are two conflicts. It is the perfect read for fans of single parent and found family tropes made even better by the backdrop of a hockey romance.
