Why!!!!!!! Why!!!!!!! Why does Jennifer Armentrout like to toy with my emotions and leave me hanging like that…. I can not wait for the new book to come out! Amazing!

This book came right out the gate with some edge of your seat, ending worthy action and I was hooked. It did slow down in the middle and got a bit dull at times, but the ending brought it back with Poppy being a total badass. Overall, I liked the first two books better, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I wanted more Kieran in this book. He was definitely still there, but I feel like there were not nearly as many humorous quips or interactions as there were in the second book. And I’m still waiting for my Joining threesome. I swear it keeps getting hinted at and I am FERAL for it to happen.

We did get a ton of information in this book about the gods, Poppy, and Atlantia. Most of it was quite helpful, but some of it made me more confused. Like, how was the first vampry created if it wasn’t Isbeth? Was it just some random Atlantian who tried ascending a mortal after they saw what happened with Isbeth? And was Poppy’s father raped?

Poppy had a lot of growth in this book and really started to come into her own as a queen. When she went all god mode and put Lord Gregory in his place and whispered “Try me” I got major chills. I’m getting goosebumps again just thinking about it. And the message she sent to the Blood Queen at the end was so epic and badass.

I really enjoyed the introduction of the draken and I can already tell I’m really going to like Reaver. I also found it hilarious that Miss Willa is an elder on the Council. I loved how much fun Casteel had with that and with the diary.

With three books left I’m very interested to see where it goes with so many potential options.

⭐️3.75 - these books really don’t need to be 600+ pages. There are many times where I think things can be sped up or cut completely. But, just like the others, this book ended in a way that I can’t leave hanging. I thought I was going to take a break from the series but now I gotta know!! The sexy scenes in this got a little meh for me because they were timed really oddly. Also, why does Casteel suddenly have such a flat personality? Poppy is growing in amazing ways so why can’t he become more dynamic as well? Hoping that we see more of his evolution in the next book.

That was so bad...all I wanted was a threesome and there was not one. This book ruined fantasy for me, I'll be taking a longgggg break from the genre after enduring the pain of reading this book.
