What did I just read. Definitely the weirdest book I have read in a while. I didn't think it could get more confusing but then each section was more confusing than the last! And that ending?? I have no idea how to interpret what happened there. I really enjoyed the Toronto setting, it was so cool to be able to visualize all the streets and everything.

I liked the writing and the mystery but then it got too mysterious and I got totally lost, especially at the end.

I did like the setting though, as I am familiar with Kensington Market. But I'm still a bit confused??

A warning to all potential readers that this book has a very confusing, non-ending ending to it, which may or may not be because the story will be continued in future novels. If this storyline is not to be continued, and this is one of those books where you are left to puzzle out what you do and don’t believe, then I’d say it’s definitely not for me. I will put it in the same category as Life of Pi and other novels that frustrated me in this manner. If there are more installments to be made then I will reserve judgment, because up until the very last page I really enjoyed it.

Holy heck, what a ride. While the prose within the book is fairly simple, there sure is a heck of a lot going on. Maybe I'm just a dumb idiot, but some parts seemed messy to me. Or at least, just a lot harder to follow. It felt jumpy and wild, but then again, there's a lot happening with reality and also identity and stability, so perhaps that was the intention. It sort of felt jumbled, much like one's brain might going through that sort of thing. Pretty good. It's fun to read works set in Canada, particularly Toronto as it felt so familiar for me!

I might have to revisit this one to take some notes and try to get a further understanding.

This book was a real mess. I kept waiting for it to pull together and make sense but it never did. Disappointing.
