Atmospheric, off-kilter, and sharp (I often find myself using this word to describe Schwab's writing), this novel had me from the opening pages. I love how Schwab mixed words and images to create her narrative (dear reader, pay attention to the illustrations--you'll see them more than once, but you'll want to see them for what you think they are before you are told what they are).

Reader beware--V. E. Schwab never learned how to pull a punch. This novel has a couple of doozies.

Good story that kept my attention the whole time but didn’t have a resolution so it will continue the way it started.

Not the strongest of V.E. Schwab's books, but still good and enjoyable!
