re-read for a student that i'm tutoring. what always strikes me about this book when i'm working on it with a student is what a bad choice it is for the vast majority of schools. despite its short length, it's incredibly dense and (for a lot of students) therefore very hard to get through. most would get on MUCH better with frankenstein, a christmas carol and the sign of four, and yet year after year i meet students who have to do this book and have absolutely no idea what's going on in it.

that doesn't mean i think this is a bad book by any means. it's a really great commentary on science and morality in the time period, and has some interesting things to say about human nature. despite being dense, i do think that this is a classic that is genuinely worth reading (i actually think that's true for the majority of gothic books from this time period, but that's a conversation for another day). i just wish schools wouldn't lumber as many students as they do with this book.

To be honest if I didn't need to read this for school than I would not read this. It was really generic, boring. I did like delving into the historical context of duality but other than that the book was hard to get through.

Llegue a ciegas con este libro, me basto con que mi novio me lo pusiera en mis manos, es cortito pero bastante intrigante la historia, me agrado bastante la forma de abordar el mal que existe en los seres.
