This book felt incredibly similar to a video game, all the way down to boss battle tropes. It may have been fun to play, but as a written narrative it wasn’t particularly engaging.
The dialogue was one sided, the characters often didn’t feel like they were talking to each other. Instead, one person got all the good lines and the other just added filler. Sometimes the only thing a major character would say in a two person conversation was ‘I agree’.
Honestly it was just far too cheesy for me. I had given up bythe second time the boss was defeated and then revealed to actually have a different, more powerful form . If you’ve ever played rpgs of any kind, then you might find this book to be corny and uninventive. DNFed when the second story seemed even more dull than the first.

Did not realize this was short stories lol. The first one was great. Wish it would have had more!

This book kind of felt like listening to a video game. Namely a medieval rpg. The “boss” keeps being defeated just to have a “this isn’t even my final form” moment and run off for our hero’s to hunt down all over again. The vibe was good for fall but after a while it seemed to drag a bit repeating the same thing over and over again. The plot kind of lost me after a while but a decent vibe book.
