If you are white, thin and rich, this book may be for your problems. But even there it could be potentially harmful. It‘s interesting how she blames her addiction problems on the biological parents of her children, but it‘s their fault that they are addicted. Really scary massages, also reg. Fatphobia

I knew nothing about Rachel Hollis before reading this but found out a lot when I Googled her after and yikes. But it confirmed a lot of what I felt while I was reading this, and she read the audiobook so there’s no way to say her tone was taken wrong.

One thing I liked was “keep promises to yourself like you would a friend.” That’s good advice.

Everything else…umm no. There’s a lot of ick here, but for me the most consistent was her put downs of bigger bodies. She constantly listed it in someway as a goal, a dream, a problem etc and then had a whole chapter about how stress eating made her an weirdo theater kid and how God made us to be thin. And then had a chapter about going to a diverse church so her kids can see all kinds of people.

I promise to myself I will not interact with anymore of her work.
