This. Was. So. Good.

I went into the book very unsure because I knew there would be a love triangle probably and I had liked Kamran so much in the first book I didn’t even want to read about another love interest. But I have no idea how Tahereh did it because now I can’t stop thinking about Cyrus. I’m conflicted because we now barely anything about him and his motivations for his actions but he intrigues me so much and the tension between him and Alizeh was 🫢🫢. Now Im just confused because I still like Kamran but now I’m super interested in Cyrus too and I have no idea what Tahereh is going to do! I’m afraid she’s going to make me hate Kamran in the third book and I don’t want her too because I LOVED him in the first book. And still really do in this one. But Cyrus’s character was SO GOOD.
I wish I could separate the two books in my head so I could be invested in Alizeh and Kamran in the first book and Alizeh and Cyrus in this one BUT I CAN’T.
I think Kamran is going to get another love interest in the third one and Alizeh and Cyrus are going to end up toguether because there is no way those two aren’t head over heels for each other (I believed the same about Kamran and Alizeh in the first book 😭😭). Truly I just want them all to have a happy ending.
I do understand that if you like plot heavy books you probably won’t like this one because it is true that very little happened in it. But idc because I was so invested in everything else too much.
First fully 5 ⭐️ of the year I think.

Tahereh Mafi just does it for me every time. I don’t think I can wait until next year for the final book.

ALIZEHCYRUS ENDGAME IDC. At first, I was like “Nooo, I hate Cyrus. Give me Kamran, I love Kamran” but then, after finishing, I was like “Wait…who’s Kamran???” (Still love him though). I do like Alizeh and Cyrus better together because I felt like they had more of a connection. Kamran, I felt, only wanted to be with her because she’d make a good queen, but Cyrus wants to be with her because she’s her. If that makes sense. I’ve actually never seen a man on his knees for a woman like this in my life, and I am absolutely living for it.

Tahereh Mafi always seems to make me fall for murders… It’s really bad… I also don’t know how she’s made me fall for a blond and now and ginger man. It’s like her specialty.

This is by far the best sequel I have ever read. Usually, sequels don’t live up to my expectations, but this one exceeded them.
