The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing but there was so much ableism from so many people and all of it in pretty much the exact same words, that I expected the whole village to be in on a cover-up. But no, it was just ableist.

Hallowe'en Party is by no means one of Christie's best novels, but it does succeed at being an effective mystery read. Nothing about the story is particularly unique, and the plot and characters are pretty typical of the mystery genre. The final solution however, is somewhat creative. I certainly wouldn't reccomend this novel if you're looking to be stunned and utterly captivated, but if you're looking for a simple, classic mystery novel to cozy up with, Hallowe'en Party is not a bad pick.
