Another Joe Sandilands mystery, this time set in France. It was pretty easy to guess who did it, but it was still a good read.

It was fun to get back to this series and reacquaint myself with Joe Sandilans.
This time the case takes place in France, while Sandilans is on vacation. Of course, he won't get to spend them without a murder happening ;P
The cast of characters was quite interesting, and I enjoyed some of them, particularly Joe's niece. Although I found the depictions of the artistic bohemian lifestyle a bit on the nose. The plot is clever, though, even when I found the culprit as soon aswe are told about the pregnancy of the victim and the state of her relationship with the Lord's cousin. That didn't minimize my enjoyment, I quite like to be right :P
As always, Terry Wale's narration is very pleasant. I think I'll be listening to the next book in the series now.

Cleverly writes such an enjoyable old fashioned series. This was one of her best. The series started in India and this story takes place in Southern France. Sandilands is a wonderful protaganist. Looking foward to his next adventure.

Like other books recently, I plowed through this one. The plot and characters were intriguing, but I admit I had a hard time getting past referring to the detective as "Joe". It seems so American rather than British. Every time I read, I felt disconcerted.
