The Action Figures series is always good for a lively adventure, and this is no exception. But in this third volume, the personal struggles of these teenage superheroes have gained new depth and weight. Everything seems to hit the fan at once—nearly every member of the Squad has a reason not to want to go home, and the Squad as a whole faces some daunting roadblocks. There's still a colorful villain and plenty of vivid combat, but it's the compelling personal stories that take center stage now, and the book is better for it.

Excellent
The best thing with long series is that things comes back and you feel a familiarity connecting you to the story. That makes it you can forgive and overlook things that otherwise would be annoying enough to break suspension of disbelief.
In my case is it magic and aliens, two tropes I dislike in my superhero stories, and this book is all about those two.
But I get to meet the gang, who I start to feel are my friends and deep realistic topics are processed, grounding a story that otherwise would be totally bonkers.
I totally looking forward to the next book!
