Wow. Just wow. I read through this in two days and it was so hard to put it down and go to sleep the first day. The details just weave together perfectly and I couldn't find a single plot hole. I also love the writing style, it feels so personal and you really get to know the (extremely unlovable) characters. The last section was the perfect culmination for the f*cked up plot. If you like dark, mysterious psychological thrillers, you absolutely have to read this.

Some of the criticisms I'm seeing from other reviews are that it was too slow-paced and the diary entries were bad. I disagree, I think there was a twist at least every second chapter that really kept things moving. The diary entries were also my personal writing style, so maybe I'm biased about that. I also think
Spoiler when you find out the truth about the character's true personality in the second section, the juxtaposition between that and the diary entries is an excellent vehicle for the plot and character.
I can't deny that the book is about extremely privileged and white characters, however I feel like the author uses that as another way to not sympathize with them rather than using it as a "plus" to redeem the characters a bit, if that makes sense?

Please see content warnings first though, there are quite a lot of them.
