Disclaimer: Thank you so much Jamie for this gifted copy!

I was lucky enough to receive this intriguing book in the mail that I just had to read it! The writing was easy to follow and the characters are relatable. Sophie was especially relatable and had a lot of similar responses to events that I would! We also see the reemergence of what I believe to be a love triangle: Ash and Ren. I personally favor Ren- just something about him makes me trust him more over Ash. Not saying Ash isn’t trustworthy, but Ren just seems knowledgeable and kind. I liked the build up to the climax of “The Test”, and enjoyed seeing the real world connect with the supernatural world. I was a bit underwhelmed with, what I deemed to be, the climax of the book, but I am sure the second book will be even better in terms of thrill. All and all, I am thankful for the opportunity to read this book and I can excited to see what comes next!

What would you do if you started hearing strange noises and get awaken by mysteries creatures trying to kill. This is the dilemma that Sophia Evans has, all she has been told was to follow her instincts and she will know who to trust. Fleeing for her life she is drawn in to a magical world that will see her fight for her life and is she the one to save a race.
As a 17 year old, Sophia was very independent and I think that was due to the fact that she had lived by herself for quite a few years. When she met Ren and Ash she was like every hormonal teenager and I was shocked that she did not scream when they appeared in her bedroom. As her powers were revealed she handled it very well and as her powers revealed themselves she was very determined to do her best. The two men in her life were completely different. Ren was all serious and had a sadistic feel to him whilst Ash was all flirty and fun loving, Despite their differences, when Sophia was in danger they both were there to protect her.
I loved that no-one would give Sophia the complete story, only snippets of what she need to know and as a teenager you could feel Sophia’s frustration, from a reader’s perspective this added mystery to the story as I was always second guessing the author and did not know what to expect. The story flowed easily and the suspension was building to the final scene. With more of her history explained at the end it leads nicely into book 2. This is perfect for young teenager and adults alike. A good start to a fantasy series with a difference

**Received ARC in exchange for honest review!**

Sophie Evans is a normal teenager, or so she thinks. One night she is awoken to strange noises in her apartment, she's saved by not 1 but 2 hot strangers. She's then thrown into this whole new strange world. She has special powers, which has to learn to control.
But then she learns of a test, she has to take. But it's not a simple test, it's a matter of life or death.
Can Sophie win the test and fight for a race she knows nothing about?

I'm not really sure what to say about this story really. I enjoyed it, the characters were likeable and the storyline was interesting. But the I thought at the beginning the story was slow going, there wasn't a lot happening. But then it started to get interesting and I just had to find out what was going to happen.
But when the story picked up, it was a interesting story line. It was different to other books I have read, and I loved that!
I also felt like we needed more information on the race of Dalysian's and what they are about.
Sophie was a really likeable character, you can't help but feel like you want to be best friends with her.
Then we have Ren and Ash, her two rescuers. I'm drawn to Ren more the Ash, maybe it has something to do with him being the mysterious bad boy. But there is just something about him.
I liked Ash but I think he can be arrogant and full of himself sometimes which put me off him.
There are so many unanswered questions I have, I need to know what is happening, with Sophie, with the Trails, Ren's history. And most of all about Sophie's Mom and a little boy named Ryan.
I need book 2 like right now!!!
