I loved the humor in this book. Each character definitely holds their own place in the narrative. This is good middle grade fiction that will resonate with both students and teachers. I really enjoyed it.

Gosh, I loved this book! It hooked me right from the beginning and continued to be full of surprises and hilarious scenes. The characters themselves are so quirky and I enjoyed reading about each one of them. If you'd ask me, I would take Mr. Kermit over Mr. Terupt any day. The only thing I didn’t like about The Unteachables is that I didn’t get to read much on Rahim, Mateo, Barnstorm, and Elaine. I get that the author might not have wanted to make it convoluted by adding so many POVs but it was disappointing to not read more on the other students. They basically plopped Rahim in an art program in a community college and that was almost all we heard of him. Anyways, beside that flaw, it was a funny and heartwarming read. Definitely would recommend!

Wonderful

This is a wonderful story. A good reminder that people are people, no matter the baggage they carry with them.

I'm very happy I picked this one up and then continued reading it after putting it down due to personal reasons. I'm a teacher and there was so much about this book that hit very close to home. The writing was so accessible and the story itself showed so much hope and kindness, if we only let ourselves pay attention to the people around us and their needs.

MUST READ! The Unteachables isn’t just about the students who get wrote off but also a teacher who also gets placed in the class with all the students who can’t read right or has anger management issues and so on. These students saved the teachers sanity and job. They brought the teacher back to life and his love for what he once used to love!

10/10 recommend reading if you haven’t already.
