Okay, I think I liked this one a little more than the first, but I'm still not hooked on this series.

Claire Kingsley has done it again. Melissa and Jackson story had everything, romance, suspense and angst. It kept me wanting more. A great read.

Jackson Bennett was just an absolute walking dream. I mean seriously. I sat there reading 'Must Be Crazy' with the biggest smile on my face and a feeling of deep longing in my heart. It's like Claire Kingsley plucked Jackson right from my dreams. From the things he said to the things he did. O.M.G. And Melissa, she's the most foul mouth teacher EVER and I LOVE it! Kingsley writes characters who don't feel characters but real people. It's so easy to connect with them. Melissa and Jackson had instant chemistry. A dreamy guy, SUPER steamy love scenes, and a heck of a story, it's clear Claire Kingsley knows exactly what she's doing and I can't wait for 'Must Be Fate'! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I wish I lived in Jetty Beach

I swear, Claire Kingsley makes me want to live in every town she writes about. Tilikum is still my top choice, but I’d so move to Jetty Beach as a back up.

This is the second book in her Jetty Beach series, and it did not disappoint. This is Jackson and Melissa’s story. Jackson is a billionaire in his own right, moving out to reach success on his own after having been raised by nannies and boarding school during his wealthy childhood. He is not phased by the lavish lifestyle he lives, and doesn’t realize how empty it is until after he spends one crazy week with Melissa. She is a school teacher on summer break looking for some adventure and fun. She gets that in spades with Jackson. She is not enamored with his money or privilege at all. This is unusual to him, as he is Twitter obsessed and used to paparazzi and women/fans fawning over him. Even still he does not come across as the arrogant, spoiled, or broody billionaire found in so many stories. He plays a role for sure, and is a shark in business, but can take his mask off and be real with Melissa. Melissa is great in their first scenes together. She’s snarky, swears like a sailor, and seems like a lot of fun. My only issue with her is that she drove me nuts at times- why all the crying? Jackson is a billionaire, he convinces her to spontaneously take off with him on a one week adventure. He takes off with her in an extremely expensive car, goes to the airport and they pick a random location and then fly in first class, yet when they walk into the mansion on the beach he rented she starts to cry (apparently because she just realized how wealthy he is?). Then twice during sex she cries. She tears up multiple other times. Honestly it was just getting a little bit annoying

Jackson and Melissa’s story is such whirlwind. I absolutely loved that she turned him down right at the start and is completely different to what he was expecting. She is sassy and bold which I love, but you also see her vulnerabilities, especially when she is thrust into Jackson’s world. Jackson is such a playboy, broadcasting his life all over social media. I struggled to fall in love with that side of him. But the Jackson that is sweet and caring and affectionate, who watches Netflix and is protective of Melissa, he’s easy to fall for! A lot of their issues stem from their completely different lifestyles but also from not communicating, in part not knowing how to talk so that the other one will hear. But once Jackson gets it right, gosh it leaves you swooning. I hope to see glimpses of their future in the rest of Claire Kingsley’s Jetty Beach series.

DNF @~25%. It wasn’t bad. Book 1 was 3 stars for me but it was my first time with this author and I’ve learned not to judge from just one book, so since I’d gotten the boxed set and since book 2 had a higher rating, I jumped right in. But for me it was more of the same. Obviously a lot of people liked it but this author’s style is just a miss for me. I don’t think it’s fair to rate a book I’ve read less than half of, but it was at about a 3 star for me. So again, not bad. Just also not good for me which is disappointing since it had potential.

This is the second book in the Jetty Beach series and it was very enjoyable. Melissa and Jackson are great characters and have a wonderful chemistry that jumps off the page. I like the growth we see in Jackson as a person as the story progresses. He goes from a player to understanding what love means and comes through when Melissa needs him. I also liked Melissa's character. She is sassy and spirited but understands home, family and what she does/doesn't want in terms of a relationship. While this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone and you will not be lost or feel like you missed out. If you haven't read book 1, this book will make you want to go back and see what you missed with Ryan and Nicole.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my opinion and the thoughts expressed are my own.
