Greg Pizzoli comes through again!
"He was the best at speed!" really made me laugh a lot. I like that this book talks about the different ways to win, and friendship, and also that there's a gator :)

Not only is this a fun book about racing, but it’s a great way to teach kids that being first isn’t the most important thing in the world.

Greg Pizzoli is a master at early readers literacy. He does what so few can. He writes about what kids understand - whether its swallowing a watermelon seed or wanting to be #1 - but does so in simple text. He can convey what kids are thinking and doing in an easy and accessible language. Love passing these along to young readers!

Being number 1 doesn't always mean coming in first.

I was underwhelmed by this, but I think it would be great for early readers and I'm all for the message.

There are lots of ways to be a winner and Sam learns that in this story. While he's an excellent racer, he's also an excellent duckling rescuer.

Pizzoli is known for enchanting illustrations, but his stories of friendship are just as important.
