Absolutely marvelous book extremely well written and beautiful if this is the last review you’re reading that is helping you decide either way on whether or not you should read this you should absolutely read this and then make everyone else in your circle read this. I was expecting something much more grotesque and dark and looming and instead I was left at the end of the book smiling and crying tears of much more mixed feelings than that . Many of them being positive.

Okay. As an adult I enjoyed this book. Amazon says the book is suitable for grade 7-9. I’m not sure if that was the author’s intent, but this is absolutely not appropriate for that. It’s too mature of a storyline for a middle/high schooler to be reading. There was courage, heartbreak, unity, love and friendship. It was a quick read. I will be looking for more books written by this author. No swearing but moderate sexual content. I say moderate because of the age group that this book seems to be meant for.

Wow, I don’t even know where to begin. This book was a lot. Pretty traumatizing, especially at the beginning but once I got into the plot I couldn’t put it down. I would love to sit down and analyze this book to pieces with someone. It broke me for a while after reading it. Check the trigger warnings because there was a lot but if you’re interested in a feminist dystopian where you don’t know how it’s going to end—definitely check it out!

I love this book. Not a spoiler, but a little trite/maudlin at the end. Still a good ending and an overall very powerful read.

Don't get me wrong. This book is amazing and super well written. But the topics of the story were just too dark and disturbing for me to finish the book.

This book gave me serious The Village vibes from the start. I found it incredibly infuriating to read because the level of oppression just made my blood boil, especially because there were areas where I found the blind belief ridiculous. But that was the point of the book and I think it delivered its message incredibly well. Though some of the tropes were cliche and on the nose, I’m not too sure how else the development could have occurred. All and all a very entertaining read. I’m glad I picked this book up and will definitely recommend it to others.
