As much as I enjoy Michael J Fox, this already felt outdated. I struggled wanting to read about his friendship with Lance Armstrong and couldn't get past the long section about the Tour de France.

Another fascinating look into the Life of Michael J Fox. This time he focuses on his life after he retired from acting; how he started the Michael J Fox foundation, and how this all connects to his interest in politics as well as his connection to religion. Politics and religion aren’t really my thing, but it interested me to learn his opinions on these matters. Lucky Man was much more engaging for me, but this one is still just an inch behind!

Even though this book is over a decade old, MJF’s ability to remain optimistic and mindful of himself and the world is an extremely refreshing thing - especially during this uncertain times.

I really love the familiar way the MJF writes, he writes like he is talking to you over a drink by the fireplace in his living room. It makes me happy to hear how his life is going and to 'catch up' with him. If you don't have a relationship with him from watching his movies, I still think you will enjoy his book.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It's the follow-on to Michael J. Fox's first memoir - Lucky Man. This book takes much more of a political tone and follows Fox's fight for stem cells to be used in research into his, and other similar, diseases and as such is very interesting. It is also an insight into what life is like for someone with Parkinsons but it never falls into self-pity. We learn about his family and how they adapt to life with his illness and also about their differing religious beliefs. The most moving part for me was about the death of his sister, which has obviously had a profound effect on him.
I very much enjoyed listening to this book and would highly recommend it. I'm hoping that at some point there will be a third part to this memoir.

I've always liked and admired Michael J. Fox as an actor, and after reading this I am just as impressed with him as a real person. I was amazed by how down-to-earth he seems in "Always Looking Up." He's good at clearly stating his views without showing disrespect for those who oppose him. He could easily be bitter about those who attack him, but instead he stays calm and doesn't resort to the tactics some of his opposition does. He's also very humble and realizes that as a celebrity with tons of money he has an easier time than the average Parkinson's patient. He not only has a personal investment in stem cell research, but he's also done lots of research on the topic so he knows the science to back up his personal experience. The chronology of his story is a little hard to follow, as he jumps around a lot. Still, it's interesting to hear about where is path in life has taken him, and his story definitely put things in perspective for me and made me appreciate my health, which I often take for granted. Super-inspiring!
