I'm reading the original novel right now and though it would be interesting to give the graphic novel a shot at the same time to see how well it blends in. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. The graphic novel would make sense only you're familiar with the story. Despite being based on the novel (not the show), it only manages to provide little snippets of information and relies heavily on the readers knowledge of this fantasy realm.

The character designs are way too goofy. Characters like Catelyn Stark have an amazonian body, like every other female character here 🤣. Are the readers ment to assume that Catelyn, the woman obsessed with her "feminine duties", gets ripped at the gym🏋️‍♀️?

I had heard of the TV series (hasn't everyone) but I knew I wouldn't get around to watching it fro a while, not least because I think Sky is going to take over the world. Anyway, I saw the book, and I figured I might as well get it. It sat there for a few months after I had gotten bored and confused by the prologue, but last week, I decided I would just sit through and read it. Once I was about a hundred pages in, the plot smoothed out in my head and I got really hooked. I finished it in under a week (so I guess I was a little long in saying I decided to read it a week ago...). The writing was dense, with various viewpoints. Enough that it didn't matter in the same way if any main characters were killed off. I really want to watch the series and read the remaining books now, kind of unfortunately.
