This book was alright. I liked the drama of the story, but the mushy romance between Sonny and Mac was enough to make me want to hurl. Guess I'm just not a huge "lovey dovey" book reader. Other than that the story was mediocre at best, but I suppose this would be a nice summer beach read for some.

Couldn't finish it. I liked the first two of this series but this one was terrible.

This was a light, breezy romance, perfect for a beach read. I just wish I'd been on a beach when I read it!

Had the story picked one or maybe two plots to focus on the book could have been a lot better. It was almost like Elizabeth Adler had too many ideas for plots and knew none of them were well thought out enough to have their own story. I did not really see the point of Allie and Pru coming to help Sunny. They went shopping once. They did not help her fix her relationship. Sunny did it all on her own. I gave the book two stars because I thought it had potential if every part about Kitty and blackmail would have been left out. That was the only plot line that didn’t intersect with anything else. There were too many characters and no one you particularly wanted to root for. I only finished the book because I wanted to know if there would be a redeeming ending. There was not.

It's ok, typical sort of romance type.

In brief: this book is pretty awful, but I still rather enjoyed reading it.

Slightly less brief: the characters are completely without depth and the things that happen to them are pretty implausible. The book has some seriously messed up messages about women's worth—basically, that it comes from being young, thin, and beautiful. Lastly, the mystery isn't mysterious at all (I began to suspect the culprit from the first introduction not the character) and the writing often feels extremely forced, leading to awkward dialog and such nonsensical gems as "a lemony hint of cardamom." How can something not remotely lemony give a lemony hint?

I think I kept reading because I found the bad writing amusing, and admittedly I was curious to find out how everything would come to a head.

The one thing Adler actual does fairly well is conjure a sense of place as the story moves between Monte Carlo, Prague, and Mumbai. That part I genuinely enjoyed.
