Fake Dating is one of my all-time favorite tropes and Fake Out (the first in this series) was one of my first introductions to it. So you can say that I have a special connection to Eden Finley's books because of that.

In this book, we spend our time getting to know Ollie & Lennon...

Ollie is a hockey star who is completely in the closet, but when he meets a cute guy in the bathroom, he comes out and accepts his offer to fake date him so that his family will get off of his back. They seem to think that the answer to all of his problems is to come out, but they don’t understand the career altering repercussions that can have. And he’s already lost his long term boyfriend from refusing to do it, so why can’t they understand?

Lennon (or Clark as he’s known by Ollie & his family) went into a bathroom and came out an NHL players boyfriend. If only they knew that he’s a sports reporter. Albeit, one who works on football and baseball articles, but still. But after that night, they go their seperate ways, not even exchanging phone numbers, never to be seen again……

That is until 6 months later when they run into eachother…

Lennon spent his time watching his old games and might have written an article (or 3) about him. One that said that the only way for him to truly get the fame and recognition he deserved would be to be traded. And Ollie HATES Lennon for it. But Clark isn’t Lennon. And when he find out.

Pretty standard. I haven’t read any of the others because I don’t follow baseball or football, but this was okay. I find it hard to believe that a family who did as much research as Oliver’s had no clue about the continuing homophobia in sports though.

Not sure? How to rate this? Probs somewhere like 2.5 stars? It was not terrible, but something was missing... or many things... It was kind of boring? So many interrogations, lol

I liked Lennon and Ollie's relationship, but it felt kind of empty? The whole Ash / weird ex thing was weird (make no mistake i WILL be reading Max and Ash's novella), the whole career debacle was oddly brought up and solved. I just didn't feel much of the chemistry between the leads. Yeah, it was not a bad book imo, just kind of boring?

I am so damn excited for Talon and Miller's story though! I'll be reading the two novellas first (Aron & Wyatt, Max & Ash) and then I'll finally get to read book 4! It's like I'm edging myself at this point lol. Not sure at ALL about Jet & Soren (book 5), guess I'll see after book 4 if i'm jumping back to finish the Franklin U series, or if I continue with the Fake boyfriends first... can't wait <3

I really love Ollies family, they're amazing. And the way they just deny calling Lennon anything but Clark is amazing! I'll admit, that I never could've imagined a friendship between Lennon and Noah, but I really love it. I'm still so in love with Noah- XD Beatle~~

I was going to skip this one to read Miller and Talon’s story and I’m so glad I gave in and read it! This was a super cute book and I loved Ollie and Lennon separately and as a couple. I loved Lennon’s dry sense of humor and their back and forth banter. But this book wasn’t just sunshine and rainbows and I appreciated how the author tackled Ollie’s reasons for not coming out. Just because someone isn’t out, doesn’t mean they are ashamed of who they are as a person. There are many factors and Lennon sums it up perfectly in this book.

Ollie is a professional hockey player and Lennon is a sports reporter for a men’s health magazine. They meet in a bathroom one night and somehow Lennon becomes Ollie’s fake boyfriend, Clark, just for one night. 6 months later, Ollie and Lennon meet up again at a benefit and Ollie finds out his “Clark” is actually a journalist and is not happy about it due to the articles he’s been writing about him. But Lennon has been assigned to cover Ollie’s team for the rest of the season so they are in close contact and no matter how hard they try to ignore each other, they can’t.

I liked this book because of the couple and it made me laugh out loud like most books I’ve read by this author. It wasn’t my favorite in the series but I read it in a few hours. Ollie and Lennon are a bit of a slow burn and it seemed to take a long time for them to get physical. I wish they had been a bit more intimate but that was also part of the humor that they always seemed to get cock blocked. I like this series though and am excited for the next two books.

[b:Deke|52000465|Deke (Fake Boyfriend #3)|Eden Finley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1569227062l/52000465._SX50_SY75_.jpg|61660544] is the 3rd book in the Fake Boyfriends series by [a:Eden Finley|15036279|Eden Finley|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1520859183p2/15036279.jpg]. The books in this series have been consistently great and scorching hot. This book features Ollie and Lennon who were introduced in previous installments. I would have like a bit more on-ice hockey from Ollie, as we don’t really get much of it, but that really is my only complaint. Also, despite my typical unease with the fake boyfriend deception theme, this book was utterly delightful. I loved Ollie’s overbearing but loving family dynamic and the abundance of good-natured teasing from his various brothers. Lennon was a bit of an untrustworthy character when he was first introduced, but he certainly turned things around and won me over. This book was a well-written, low angst, high steam story that was overall just a pleasure to read. Happily looking forward to the next installments.
