Read to my younger siblings and they loved it. Early on in the book it provides the opportunity to discuss bullying. It touches on the meaning of responsibility and how actions have consequences, though it doesn't present great/realistic examples.

They also enjoyed the illustrations. So much so, we probably spent more time looking at the pictures than we spent reading.

As expected this book contains cartoon violence and the death of Peter's uncle (only referenced, no visuals).

Peter was really charming in this. But appropriate for a child.

This is an absolutely GORGEOUS children's book. I can't remember another kids book that is so beautifully illustrated, each page covered in vibrant, painted scenes. The images alone were enough for me to buy this book for my young son, who is a budding Spider-Man fan.

A nice surprise on top of that was the way the story was told, including some simple lessons regarding cruelty, kindness, and responsibility.

Definitely worth picking up if you want to introduce your child to their new favorite super hero!
