Alexandra Hale does NOT hold back with this super fun and flirty brothers best friend romance! For a debut novel, I was SO impressed with the whole storyline and that spice.. oof!

This was such a sweet book! I really love second chance romance, and this was such a good one. I loved all the characters and how it sets up other stories.

My favorite part, and what makes small town romance the best genre (imo) is the found family. I love that Waylon's family was Marlee's family and is there for her and her brother no matter what. I love that everyone was rooting for Waylon and Marlee too, knowing they deserved their HEA.

I can't wait to read the next story!

Small town, second chance, brothers best friend trope by this new to me author. I enjoyed getting to know Waylon and Marlee and their family. I can see a lot of great stories coming out of this town. Looks like Hank is next and I can’t wait!

Back in the Country is a brilliant debut novel from Alexandra Hale. She has created a family and small town full of character and heart that you want to visit again and again. You want to be invited home for chicken potpie or meet a friend for a meal at Smokin’ Joes or enjoy the music at Brew, Q ‘n Boogie.
This book is full of giggles and snort-laugh moments, melt your heart and teary moments and several please-pass-me-the-fan moments. Marlee and Waylon have a realism to them that I loved, from their appearance to their strengths, flaws and insecurities. I loved Waylon’s protectiveness and loyalty, and hurt for his doubts about his worthiness. I loved it when Marlee found her voice and made sure the men in her life heard her. I look forward to returning to Clementine Creek.

The way I did a double take when I realize that this is the author's debut novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a easy and light read.I also love the tropes and honestly I'm not a big fan of small town romance (I don't read alot of them) but this was reeally good.

Marley attended college and worked in Nashville for several years before returning to his small hometown of Tennessee to care for his brother who was wounded in a military campaign. She is determined to reunite with her childhood crush, Waylon, who is also her brother's boyfriend.

Marlee has always known she wanted Waylon. But their age gap and his friendship with her brother prevented him from going further, but he agreed if she still wanted him on her 21st birthday that he would give in. we dont get to see much from that day, but we are now years later and Marlee is back in town. Things go quickly with Marlee and Waylon, they pick up where they left off and immediately are going on dates. I would have liked a slower progression but they were able to forgive each other for the past and move in to the present. This was a quick read but it was very low on the spice.

This little book was good, steamy, with a good plot and characters.

I liked the story of Marlee and Waylon, being his brother's best friend but loving her since they met but unable to do it because it is "forbidden", she goes to study in the city but returns after a while and is determined to have Waylon since she is in love. The story of these two was cute, in the sense that although it has its drama and its doubts, they fight for each other, in addition to the fact that Waylon's family is a beautiful thing.

It was a good start and a good introduction to this whole series and this small town
