Man I devoured this one. I was so entranced right away by Ly's story not only because it was wild and intense right from the get-go, but also because she told it so well. There were parts where Ly showed you the strands connecting throughout, the way her eyes and her problems with them connect to how she sees herself, especially in light of her parents' expectations and their own trauma. I felt so deeply for her at so many moments and so proud of how far she came over the course of the novel not only in terms of normal success markers (school, grades, relationships, etc.) but also her personal growth and things like getting therapy and not lying anymore about her circumstances to people who could help. I really want to know more about her life and read more from her, nonfiction or fiction.
