i really liked this book!! compared to lucy foleys other novels this one really stands out, with its detailed writing, eerie storyline, and gripping suspense.

def a good read if you like mystery!

Just wasn’t able to hold my interest.  I may try again if the audiobook has a good narrator but I don’t think I could ever visually read this book.

Surprisingly I was a huge fan on the different character perspectives per chapter. The list was condensed enough that I felt like I was really getting the whole picture of their version events, while still getting to know the other characters, the wedding, and past tensions at the same time. The main povs’ character developments were very well structured and I really felt like I was getting to know them. I loved how naturally the build up lead to their different motives. Beautifully written.

I liked how it wasn’t just fully focused on the wedding/murder too (and more on the characters personal lives) and was genuinely shocked by most of the reveals and connections.

I switched back and forth between the audiobook version on Libby and the hard copy I got a few years ago from Book of the Month. Choosing my preference, I went with the audiobook version because I was hooked once I heard the first male voice as I did not pay attention that it was read by multiple individuals.

I have to agree with some prior reviews that I read. It is a slow burn, but once it is lit it is a fast flame. I kept wondering what was going to happen next, then something else would come up and I'd forget, then it would flippy flop.

I like the author and I like the previous book I read. This is definitely a story I can get into.
