retelling of tale in ancient Greece the tragedies of Agamemnon King his wife Clytemnestra his son Orestes and his daughter Electra. Brilliant writing and spares nothing so the story of Oresteia by Aeschylus is retold in all its stark brutality. Its a story about the pursuit of power and revenge and family and here it is retold and expanded by a graat writer Colm Toibin.

Technically brilliant as far as the writing goes and I definitely enjoyed the abundance of queer characters, but I found the novel underwhelming and it didn't really do anything special with the original myths. Sadly found it hard to get through, particularly the first half of the book.
