I so love a good memoire or biography about genius but this one was tough to follow and I often thought it was the error of the author than the quirks of the subject. Perhaps they had fun but it didn't translate well for which I'm sorry because I do believe there is a story to be told.

After the first few pages of "Simon," I was afraid I would lose the thread of the biography among the author's various gimmicks. But I was soon charmed by his honesty and sincere fondness for his biographical subject. Not a rigorous biography by any means, more of an appreciation. Still, quite enjoyable.

Couldn't get into this although I quite liked the quirky style of writing, just wasn't in the mood to read it at the moment. Maybe I'll try again later.
