7.28.20 update: 3/5. I liked this book.

I hate these STUPID characters and their STUPID selflessness and how STUPIDLY adorable they are and how much they STUPIDLY love each other and the way they make me SOB MY EYES OUT every time I read or watch anything about them. HOW DARE THEY.

In all seriousness, this wasn't a *great* spin-off/sequel(?) but ugh these characters just have a way of pulling at my heartstrings and making me emotional. They're so selfless and so sweet and I just wanna protect them from this cruel cruel world. And also kinda wanna reread the original series because it's been a while.

I definitely understand the general sentiment that "this wasn't necessary" and although I agree, I still enjoyed at least getting to see how this timeline would play out and getting more time with these characters. It was still a sweet story despite the fact that we didn't really NEED to see it. That said, the timeline jumping wasn't always super clear, and since it's been a while since I read the original series it took me a little while to figure out what scenes were taking place during the OG series vs what took place in the various possible future timelines. It wasn't always super clear which was which.

Not really sure what to rate this because I have such an emotional attachment to these characters and their story, but also I don't think this was as technically fantastic as the original series.

I don't feel like this added much to the story? And the multiple timelines thing is kind of hard to follow. I wish it was more clear on which past and which future we're following without having to rely on context clues sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm reading Orange: Future (Orange: The Complete Collection) which is basically the same as this one Orange 6. I might add the one I'm reading to Goodreads though. I hope this one adds a little something to the overall finished story. I don't mind that the story is finished but I really liked Suwa and I'm interested what this one is about.

This book series has become a favourite of mine. It's emotional investing and it has taken over my life. It's amazing. The characters, the story and the simplicity creating a nostalgia I can't remember that I had but I know is there. I still feel the most connected with Kakeru but Suwa and Naho are amazing people, too.

While I didn't feel as blown away by this volume because it was tacked on at the end and deals with the future of the people who sent the letters, I am glad that this story was included. I'm glad that we get to see these characters have to cope with the death of their friend and come to terms with their own failure/inability to help him when he was alive. It is a very sad reality but its a true one that many real life people have to deal with after the suicide of someone close to them.

Un tomo perfecto para conocer la perspectiva de Suwa, uno de los personajes más entrañables de esta historia.
