After recovering from a life-threatening accident, an Italian speedboat racer spends some time with his godmother's family, befriending her daughter, who runs a vineyard. They engage in a marriage of convenience, unlocking his inheritance (yeah, I know, right?) and attempting to give her the child they both want. Although this book is in a way a trope bonanza, Welsh makes it work with likeable characters and realistic emotions.
