This is a fast-paced, compelling, unique thriller that I could not put down.Ā  I like the speculative elements and what they teach this main character about the mystery, but more importantly what they teach her about herself and her family.Ā  There's a lot of insightful rumination on motherhood here; being in the moment, guilt, the impact of a mother on a child, work balance, etc.Ā  I like the multi-layered mysteries and how discovering the solution to one crime just uncovers more lies and more crimes. I thought this book was really inventive and unique. Iā€™m impressed by all the things the author mustā€™ve had to keep track of to avoid plot holes in this format.

It was maybe a bit long or dragging at times but I think everything was also necessary? And it still kept my interest. I actually stayed up late because I had to know how it ended.Ā

What I didnā€™t really like:
1) I feel like this book was copaganda. The police are criticized for a large portion of the book but Surprise! in the end they were the good guys all along. 2) I didnā€™t love the way it focused a lot on ā€œmom guiltā€. (But that eventually resolved.)

I definitely didnā€™t expect the Ending (plot resolution) [well, part of it became clear over the course of the book, but part of it was a complete surprise to me at least] or the ending (epilogue).
(Which was kind of a cliffhanger)

I thought it was kind of neat that she forgets everything in the end.

Random silly observation: I love how the narrator did the American accent of the physicist lol.Ā

If you donā€™t mind following a complicated Memento-like plot, this is a really great book.Ā

Started slow. Wasnā€™t my favorite, but it ended strong.Ā

The twists were shocking!! They definitely helped me enjoy the last 20%. šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

If you want a quick suspense that has a decent plot with multiple twists that will leave you shook, check it out.Ā

If youā€™re not a fan of time travel or repetitive situations, you can skip this one.

Wow, this book blew my mind!Ā  Such a heart-wrenching and thrilling mystery.Ā  Jen is a busy woman trying to be the perfect mother, lawyer and wife.Ā  When she witnesses her son, Todd, murder a mysterious man, she is shocked and determined to understand why.Ā  The force of her emotions literally change the course of time, and she begins to live life in reverse, waking up the day before the murder, and then slowly moving back in time and discovering more and more about the murdered man, her son and all of the secrets she never knew.Ā  Incredible plot, this book drew me in from page 1!
