Their paper choice caused a heck of a glare while reading; It didn't feel very hygge to read this one. There were also a handful of typos. However, I still loved my experience reading this book and the content. With every book he writes, I become more convinced that I want to move to Denmark someday. I especially appreciate him calling out "hygge washing" because we see this way too often. The only reason I took a star off was because a large chunk of this information seemed redundant since I've read all of his other books.

I'm not really sure what this book gives you. It felt a bit like filler - each chapter had a couple of nice points, and I enjoyed the authors sense of humour, but the content was pretty slim. I appreciated the emphasis on not buying things to make your life 'hygge', and how the concept is broader than just a nice looking home. I'm not sure if I really felt the answer in the title of the book was answered though - consumerism aside, perhaps more examples could be given?

Been in a reading slump so this was a nice, easy book to read that overall made me feel good. Similar his other book "The Little Book of Hygge" but had more actionable steps for how to integrate hygge into your home. The photography is beautiful and I appreciated some of the little stories he shared in the book.

This book 100% did what it set out to do. Which is present different ways you can change your home to make it more hygge and increase happiness. This has got me thinking about which of the ideas I can apply to my own home, and I am excited to get started.

Less stock images and more concrete examples would've boosted this experience significantly. Still, the end of chapter checklists offer some good instructions.

Meandering, kind of COVID focused, but refreshing in that it isn't pushing you to spend a lot of money or hire a designer.
