Scarlett Marks life has been spent from one prison to the next, but right when she thinks she is finally getting her freedom, she is sent into a new prison. Luke Rosen is doing everything in his power to be the best Chief of Police he can be, but watching Scarlett live in seclusion, while trying to protect drives him to move her into his house. Their attraction to each other can only be held at bay for so long before they both crack. But FBI and the Warrior wandering around town might be too much for even Luke to ward off.

To me Luke didn't have much of a personality, he was protective, but I wish I saw more of his internal struggle of wanting to protect Scarlett, but also do what is right by his job. Scarlett stole the show for me, watching her grow her confidence and fight for what she is want, while trying to protect all of those around her. I did not think I was going to like Noble Prince as much as I was going to. I did not fully understand how it was going to fit into the rest of the series.

I got a little bored in the middle there, but it got intense and wild very quickly! So much of what happens in Noble prince is important into Fallen Jester and leading into Tin Queen.

I started this series for the motorcycle men, but Luke and Scarlett might actually take first for fave story. This one got me all in my feelings and I really cannot wait to see where the next story goes.

Devney Perry threw it out of the park with this one! Small town romance, a hunky and honorable town sheriff, a sassy and brave heroine, and a big family of friends who will do anything to help you. It’s a feel good, happy, angsty and feel good romance and I loved every word!

In the previous book, Stone Princess, we found out that Presley has a twin sister from whom she’d been estranged for the last ten years. We learn of their sad story, their father’s abuse, and how Jeremy was intertwined in their history. After Jeremy’s suicide, and after learning he had robbed drug money from the Warriors, Scarlett is deemed to be in danger, so Luke Rosen, town sherif, takes her into hiding.

When I read Stone Princess, I didn’t like Scarlett much. She seemed strange and off-putting, and I suspected she was jealous of Presley. It’s in this book, as I read about her, that I learned that she was really feeling guilty. She regrets not escaping with Presley ten years ago, she did resent that Presley was with Jeremy and she feels bad about causing Jeremy to leave Presley at the altar. What she wants, urgently, is to be with her sister and make amends. However, since she’s in danger from the Warriors, Luke is keeping her in hiding, even from her sister.

During her stay in Luke’s house, they get to know each other and fall in love. With all the danger issues, and Scarlett’s baggage, there are a lot of hurdles to overcome. Even so, the love story is sweet as these two good souls get to know each other, develop a trust, slowly give up their secrets and join forces against the evil holding them back.

I got a kick out of Scarlett’s initial revenge on Luke for keeping her hidden. She rearranged his entire house, furniture, closets, kitchen cabinets, even the garage! Poor guy arrived home from work in high alert, not for dangers but for fear of what he would find, or not find, as the case may be. He had to hunt around his closet for clothes, and around his kitchen for mugs, glasses, etc. Poor guy tried his negotiation skills to no avail! Her excuse? “It has a better flow.” Too funny!

“All I wanted was to walk through my door each evening and have my things be in the same place where I’d left them that morning. When I’d left for work, I’d thought today might be that day. Today, I wouldn’t come home to a minefield. She had to be done making changes, right? I mean, there wasn’t much else to touch.”

Luke is a decent guy, with a strong moral base. He finds himself in a difficult position because he wants to save Scarlett and be able to stay with her, versus get evidence to send the Warriors to jail. With the FBI swarming all over town and following him, then Presley pressuring into seeing Scarlett, Scarlett wanting to live a normal life, he finds himself in a quandary, go with his heart or go with his principles?

What I love the most about Devney Perry’s books is that we get, not just a lovely romance story and yummy sexy times, but also fantastic characters, and a strong sense of family. Dash, Emmett and Leo loved Presley like a sister, so when Presley arrived, she became family too. When Shaw fell in love with Presley, he became family too. They have a strong connection and have each others back. When one of them is in danger or ill, the others show up and do what’s needed to resolve. I love this kind of cohesion and loyalty and I get a rush each time I read one of her books and get to enjoy it again!

I have loved every book in the Tin Gypsy series by Devney Perry, and I thought that I'd found my favorite in STONE PRINCESS. But when I say that NOBLE PRINCE moved to the top of the list, you have to know that it's because, not only does Devney's writing get better with each and every book (and it was wonderful to begin with), this book about an unlikely couple stole my heart from the very first chapter.

When Luke Rosen was first introduced in STONE PRINCESS, it was apparent that this man was going to be a heart stealer. Strong, steady, dependable, none of those adjectives necessarily point to the guy that's going to be the one, but he is, and he is exactly what Scarlett Marks needs in her life. And this slow burning love story with plenty of passion, suspense, and action was just want I needed on my TBR, because I couldn't put it down, and I can't stop thinking about it.

Devney has quickly become one of my go-to authors, because she moves seamlessly between series (I mean, really, there's prolific, and then there's next level), doesn't miss a beat, and continues to deliver stories and characters that find that place in my heart set aside for the memories that I'll visit often.

The Tin Gypsy series has been so great up to this point that I can only imagine the magic that Devney is going to unleash with the last two books in the series. I am here, and I am ready. If you haven't read this series, you are missing out. Go, now, get them, and thank me later. ❤️
