“A witch is merely a woman who needs more than she has.”

4.5⭐️ book, 10⭐️ reading experience. Harrow is such a talented writer and her characters had so much depth and color and life to them. The world building was so amazingly done despite being of a relatively simple concept. So many dimensions. The ending broke my heart and I almost shed a tear.

Loved loved loved this book - a captivating mash-up of historical fiction, fantasy, fairy-tale, and feminism. The women are fabulous and flawed, the magic gives weight to fairytales and children’s songs, and the story had me hanging on for dear life. The ending was perfect. I wish for the magic to allow myself to read it again for the first time.
